Whole-Person Mental Health Care in a Community Setting
At CooperRiis, we approach mental illness intending to heal the whole person. This powerful, person-centered, strength-based recovery method of addressing challenging mental health issues combines evidence-based clinical interventions (DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, and trauma-informed treatment), community work & service, education, and integrative wellness practices.
CooperRiis is a primary mental health program offering support to individuals with a history of a substance use disorder through recovery and relapse prevention groups and individual therapy; we are not a dual diagnosis specialized program.
We also offer enhanced programming and services for residents with neurodiversity/autism diagnoses, assisting with social and life skill building, self-advocacy and determination, and pre-employment skills within a sensory community environment. The programming is based on “Peers for Young Adults: Social Skills Training for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Other Social Challenges” by Elizabeth Laugeson.
Our goal is reintegration: enabling adults with psychiatric disorders to lead fulfilling, independent lives.
We understand that effective mental health treatment does not mean quick fixes or easy solutions. Everything we do is grounded in the fundamental science of mental health treatment, focusing on the community.
