Evidence-Based, Comprehensive Psychiatric Treatment
At HopeWay, we focus on the whole-person knowing that mental illness does not happen in a silo. With our on-site wellness clinic, staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, integrative therapists, nurses and dieticians, we utilize all aspects of wellness to help clients heal. Our structured schedule includes various didactic group therapies focused on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, healthy relationships, anxiety management, self-awareness, and substance use and recovery. Also built into the schedule are integrative therapies such as art, music, horticulture, recreation, health & wellness, mindfulness & meditation and pet therapy that often allow clients to express themselves when they do not have the words to do so.
Our evidence-based treatment model serves clients with a primary mental health diagnosis and over 70% of our clients have more than one diagnosis. The majority of clients are diagnosed with a depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder or trauma and stress related disorder. We encourage clients with a co-occurring substance use disorder to attend the substance use and recovery group and participate in virtual AA or NA during their treatment.
Clients are actively involved in their treatment plans and goals. Individuals in the residential and partial hospitalization programs meet with their therapist and psychiatrist once a week for one-on-one sessions.
Therapeutic and Welcoming Environment
HopeWay’s beautiful and calming campus sits on 20 acres and includes walking trails, gardens, outside patios, and an on-site gym. Our main building has 36 private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms on the residential hall. There are many comfortable community living spaces throughout. The colors and artwork support the healing process and help make clients feel safe and welcomed during their time in treatment.
Highly Trained, Dedicated Team
HopeWay is a physician-led program and has a robust team of medical and clinical professionals, which allows for small caseloads and small group sizes. Our psychiatrists have a spectrum of specialties and interests to accommodate the various needs and goals of our clients. Beyond the staff’s training and expertise, HopeWay’s team is passionate about the work they do and believe in each client’s ability to get better.
A Proven Model of Care
Through the various treatment modalities offered at HopeWay, clients learn the skills and tools they need to appropriately manage their mental health after discharge. We often hear from previous clients that their “HopeWay tool box” is a central part of their continued recovery and healing. HopeWay is committed to excellence, and through our relationship with UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine, we have seen that our model of care works. Our outcome data shows clinically significant reductions in anxiety and depressive symptoms and clinically significant improvement in overall functioning. HopeWay maintains The Joint Commission’s National Gold Seal of Approval and is also certified as a Behavioral Health Home because of the integrated care model.
Fostering a Safe, Inclusive, and Respectful Environment for the LGBTQ+ Community
