Service Model
At New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, our service model reflects our commitment to holistic recovery and person-centered care. We believe in the fundamental importance of creating a safe, united, and culturally diverse community as the optimal environment for recovery.
Key Principles
Perspective of Recovery: We view recovery as a journey that incorporates the strengths and potential of individuals and families. By enhancing competencies, developing capacities, and strengthening hope, we empower individuals to achieve their goals.
Person-Centered, Holistic Approach: Our service planning and resource allocation prioritize individuals' medical, behavioral, social, educational, vocational, and spiritual interests.
Informed Choice: We ensure that individuals thoroughly understand the nature of care, service, support, and treatment choices, empowering them to make informed decisions.
Acceptance and Responsibility: Individuals in recovery are given the responsibility to decide on the course of action that aligns with their wellness goals, with an informed understanding of risks and outcomes.
Recognition of Non-Linearity: We acknowledge that recovery is non-linear, grounded in continual growth, occasional setbacks, and learning from experience.
Awareness of Trauma Impact: We recognize the prevalence of trauma, adversity, and disrupted attachment, understanding their pervasive impact on individuals' lives.
Importance of Supportive Relationships: Family, allies, peers, and other community members play a crucial role in the recovery journey, and our efforts prioritize these supportive relationships.
Community Outreach: Our commitment extends beyond our facilities as our staff and residents actively engage in community outreach, providing support and care to those in need.
Holistic Recovery Services
In addition to our comprehensive service model, we emphasize holistic recovery by integrating wellness supports such as nutritionist services, yoga, dTMS (Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), and CES (Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation) into our treatment plans. By addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of wellness, we support overall well-being and empower individuals on their journey to recovery.
Addiction and Co-Occurring Treatment Programs
Our structured and supportive programs include Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and Traditional Outpatient services, each tailored to individual needs. Services encompass integrated psychiatric care, individual and group therapy, family therapy, and addictions counseling/education. Treatment modalities include Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy-informed care (DBT), relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) and accredited by the Joint Commission.
Residential Support Services
New Vitae Wellness and Recovery provides personalized residential behavioral health supports tailored to individual preferences and needs. Our licensed personal care homes, Mount Trexler Manor and Quakertown House, offer round-the-clock staff assistance, medication administration support, and routine trips into the surrounding areas. Residents benefit from extensive social contact and group psycho-educational opportunities to enhance socialization skills. Pathways, our supported independent living apartments provide autonomy with staff support as needed, focusing on developing independent living skills and accessing community resources independently.
RTFA (Residential Treatment Facilities for Adults) Program (Philadelphia locations)
Developed in conjunction with Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health, Community Behavioral Health, and the Beck Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, New Vitae’s RTFA program offers dedicated residential treatment facilities for individuals referred from forensic populations. Accredited by The Joint Commission, our RTFA locations in West and South Philadelphia provide clinical supports combined with residential services to facilitate personal wellness and successful community reintegration.
Brain Injury Support Services
We offer state-licensed 8-bed Action Recovery personal care homes and small 3-bed apartment settings where individuals receive specialized care and rehabilitation services tailored to meet the unique needs of those living with brain injury. Our multidisciplinary team offers treatment options, including neurocognitive structured day services and residential habilitation, to support personal growth and proficiency in daily living skills.
Veterans Mental Health Services
New Vitae Wellness and Recovery offers specialized, holistic care for Veterans, addressing long-term behavioral health symptoms, traumatic brain injury, and other challenges related to military service. Our person-centered approach prioritizes individual needs and goals, fostering a supportive environment where Veterans can develop personalized wellness plans and access a range of community-based and residential treatment options. We collaborate closely with VA Mental Health Treatment Coordinators to ensure coordinated care and advocacy for Veterans at every stage of their recovery journey.
Peer Support Services
We offer peer support services led by professionals who draw from their own life experiences to guide individuals through their recovery journeys. These services include utilizing community links, developing personalized recovery plans, acclimating to new recovery groups, learning coping skills, and fostering independence. Peer support fosters leadership in recovery, instilling hope, renewing motivation, and reducing roadblocks. Sessions can be conducted individually or in groups, either in-office or within the community, providing real-world assistance.
Pre-Vocational Program
Our pre-vocational program provides tailored support to residents, preparing them for competitive part-time employment opportunities. Through hands-on training and personalized guidance, individuals develop essential job skills, boosting their confidence and readiness for the workforce.
